James Hopkinson OBE

James Hopkinson is a Senior Consultant at Marlow Global.

James is a seasoned and highly experienced risk advisory director focused on supporting clients to better understand their above ground risk and the complex environments in which they wish to invest and operate.  Having been a former British Army officer, he is well used to complexity and change.  He has supported a variety of client sectors encompassing both land and maritime domains, including extractives (both Energy and Mining), commercial shipping, governments and institutions, and private families.  James has operated at Executive-board level in both the private and public sectors.  He has worked for private risk management companies, founded and run one himself and delivered strategic and operational consultancy worldwide.

James has a MA in Defence Studies from the University of Canberra, Australia and a MA(Hons) in Politics from Edinburgh University.
